We have been asked to design an installation for Caesarstone at the Israel design week 2017, our desire was to create a portal, from a countertop material to a creators material. Its diversity in finishes, in colours and the wide collection, was something we felt we had to implement into the design, this portal was a place where the visitors can be inspired to create whatever comes in their minds. We have designed a series of surreal objects that infuses two products into hybrids, we wish this installation could spark the imagination of the visitors to do the same and think of the new, the unconventional and to walk in a different path.
We have presented 6 objects, staircase turning into a floating counter, a stand alone shelving system that “ate” a lamp and is now part of it, the table bowl that carefully examines the relation between the two objects and rearrange them, We have designed a coffee table \ vase, where the leg of the becomes the vase it self and create a dialogue in history between the world of flora and furniture, you could find the Moon bench, a bench where the backrest has grown into a screen, a divider between spaces, and a diagonal shower that infuses a shelf into the shower and how it is supported by the tension of a rope creating a division in space.
